King Tut’s Tomb is an immersive, large-scale quest level developed in UEFN in collaboration with TheImmersiveKind. The experience is live and playable in Fortnite via Island Code: 3565-5344-0817.
The level commemorates the 1922 discovery of KV62 by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon. Players must battle an army of Anubis warriors and solve environmental puzzles to reach King Tutankhamun’s inner chamber.
I utilized the UEFN Terrain Editor with custom material shaders to move beyond the "Fortnite look" toward a more realistic desert aesthetic. While some environment assets were sourced from third parties, I modeled the KV62 hallways in Blender, utilizing authentic hieroglyphic textures and historical floor plans.
I configured the world settings to a sunset "golden hour" to enhance the atmosphere. While the core mechanics use Fortnite prefabs, I handled all custom logic and level flow by scripting in Verse via Visual Studio Code.
